Pumpkin Vine

The tender bud of a brand new pumpkin. There is something decidedly in utero about this image. All the information is there for a big, orange pumpkin. This vine popped up where we put out our garbage. No doubt it is the product of a stray pumpkin seed.In the early morning, the flower was wide open and boldly pretty. By mid morning, when I had my camera, it was beginning to curl in on itself.
Each vein is perfect. The curious shade of orange that characterizes our calabaza pumpkins is already evident in the slightly unusual cast of the orange.

Pumpkins are one of my favourites. Mind you I hated them with a passion when I was young.

You are great at photography.

Thank you Correy. I think in keeping with my pumpkin/edible theme, I'll post a recipe for my pumpkin soup later.
Your site is amazing as well- so much information.
Thanks for visiting,
Sharon

That seriously is some terrific photography!
Nature is an awesome creator for having created life, and you have done full justice to the creator's creation by capturing it so beautifully.

Great pics! How I long for pumpkin flowers but no, I'd have to wait for many months.
